Sudapost has declared a case of force majeure, effective from 15 April 2023
EmIS 007/2025
The designated operator of Sudan, Sudanese Postal Services Company (Sudapost), wishes to inform other Union member countries and their designated operators that the conflict that broke out in Khartoum in April 2023, which subsequently spread to certain other regions of the country, has affected its postal infrastructure in various areas.
Sudapost was able to resume its services in May 2024 in the safe states and territories.
However, the conflict is ongoing and postal services continue to be affected. Sudapost is unable to guarantee the timely delivery of mail and EMS items, owing to the need for such deliveries to pass through numerous security checkpoints.
Accordingly, Sudapost has declared a case of force majeure, effective from 15 April 2023.
Sudapost thanks all Union member countries and their designated operators for their understanding.
